Prepping for your next workout session? You don’t want to weigh yourself down with a heavy meal. Instead, you want something refreshing, light and energising! The “Lean Green Machine” is just what you need. It is a healthy, light, tasty and refreshing smoothie that you can make and enjoy pre-workout. Zip the ingredients into a blender, pour and enjoy!
As a cyclist and runner, it is advisable not to drink this minutes before you start your workout. I normally enjoy something like this about 1 – 1½ hours before I go out on the bike or lace-up, and then I might only have half, leaving the other half for when I get back. However, it is personal preference.
- 2 Slices of Melon
- ¼ – ½ Cup of Fresh Mint
- 2 – 3 Cups of Fresh Cut Spinach
- ½ Mango
- ¼ Medium Cucumber
- 150 ml Apple Juice
- 2 TBSP Greek Yogurt
- Ice Cubes
- Put the spinach in a blender to reduce.
- Add all other ingredients and blend together.
- Pour and enjoy!
