Copperleaf Urban-Bush-Excursion

On Sunday, 6 September 2020, I joined the Malles Doen Alles – Stofpad Trappers Urban-Bush-Excursion, on the Copperleaf Route, in Centurion. The outing was a recovery ride, for the previous day’s 137 km Wildevy Around the Canals MTB Ride. I decided on the spur of the moment to join the ride, and at 07:45 am dashed out on the “Black Stallion” 🚲 at speed 🚴‍♀️💨😁!

Santi Luus Lombaard, Tony Lombaard, Otto Strydom and Amanda Strydom of the “Malles Doen Alles” hosted us, and at 08:00 am, nine mountain bikers set off from the Thunder Ridge Spur Steak Ranch, on an Urban-Bush ride. The route took us along a mix of tar, gravel, jeep track and single track, through the outskirts of Centurion towards Copperleaf, via Monavoni. We passed through smallholdings and farmland, with lovely winter scenery 🌾, grazing cattle 🐄🐂, rolling grassland 🌾🌸🦎🐞🦋🐛🐝🐸🐜, springs, streams, dams and wetlands 🦆. Surprised to be treated with the sight of a beautiful ancient stone build dam wall, still intact. It must be more than 40 years old. After marvelling over the historic beauty, and having taken some pics 📸, we got back on route. The group made a halfway stop for lip-smacking cappuccino ☕️, snacks 🍰🥤 and a bit of chit-chat 😋🤩. Then homeward 🏡 bound. It was a lovely relaxed, Sunday morn ride, with a great group 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️💨🤩! Fabulous 💃🥳👌!
