Stofpad Trappers is a social mountain bike group dedicated to arranging safe group rides in the countryside of Gauteng and its surrounds. The Group is based in South Africa.

As the Group grew in size, it was decided to create a Facebook Page, Strava Group and Group Cycling Shirt, as well as a dedicated WhatsApp Group to schedule rides on.

Stofpad Trappers needed a styled look, for the various platforms, that would resonate with the Group’s activities.

Being a mountain biker myself, and riding with the Stofpad Trappers Group occasionally, this was a great pro bono project to take on.

Logo Concept and Design

The elements and colours in the logo symbolise; riding your mountain bike from sunrise to sunset, in the countryside on gravel roads and trails.

Tagline Creation

‘Ride Wild’ was created and chosen as an appropriate tagline. The tagline resonates with the activities of the Stofpad Trappers Mountain Bike Group.

Brand Identity

The Stofpad Trappers Look & Feel Booklet was created in Canva Pro as a guide for the Admin of the Stofpad Trappers Group. It contains the Colour Palette, Fonts, as well as Layout, Colours and Font Selection for the Facebook Post Graphic Template. The Booklet is also handy as a guide to send to suppliers of cycling apparel and other goods, that the Group may purchase as a collective. This ensures consistency of the Stofpad Trappers Brand.

Group Cycling Shirt

The Stofpad Trappers Group designed a unique Cycling Shirt in line with the Brand Identity created for the Mountain Bike Group. Here I am featured, wearing the shirt during the Cullinan to Tonteldoos MTB Ultra 2021, a 260 km Mountain Bike Race over 24 hours. We entered two Relay Teams, with 4 Members each. I was in Team Stofpad B, and we were the winners in our category.
